Starting as a Host

To start a translation session with XL8 EventCAT for Zoom, you must first log in as a host.

An account can be created on the XL8 translation platform, MediaCAT, through the provided link. Please verify your email after signing up.

After logging in, select the language the host will be speaking.

Next, select the languages that the meeting participants will be using. Currently, only up to two languages can be selected.

Finally, enter the Meeting URL to join the session.

The Meeting URL can be obtained by clicking on the green shield icon located in the top left corner of the Zoom Client.

Now click the Start Session button to start the translation session.

This task involves recording a meeting and requesting permission to record from the participants. Participants who do not agree to the recording will be denied participation in the meeting.

Host needs to grant a permission to local file recording on XL8 EventCAT Bot to start a translate voices.

From the start of the recording, the voices of all participants in the translation session will be separated and translated into all the languages selected by the host.

If the host speaks in English, the text will be translated into Korean and Spanish within 1-2 seconds.

Starting as a Participant

Participants start by entering the Meeting URL. This is to check if the XL8 translation session has been opened for that meeting. If the session is not open, the next step will not proceed.

If the host has created a session, the participant will be taken to the language selection screen. Participants can only speak in one of the languages selected by the host.

Once the participant enters the session successfully, all the created text from the beginning of the translation session is retrieved and the participant's voice is also translated thereafter.

Remove App

First you can see the App on the Apps tab in your Zoom Client, and click Manage link.

And then you can see Added Apps page in the new tab of your browser, and then click the Remove button.
